AUD / USD currency rate historical data download
The Australian Dollar (AUD) has been introduced first on 14 January 1966 and it is used in Australia, Kiribati, Tuvalu and Nauru. From Quandl you can download free AUD/USD historical data back until 27 May 1994.
Steps for downloading AUD / USD market data
Step1: visit Quandl's AUD / USD download page (http://www.quandl.com/QUANDL-Quandl/AUDUSD-Currency-Exchange-Rates-AUD-vs-USD)
It may happen that you meet Quandl's tutorial first (see below). Press "Skip"! (Tutorial introduces all features of Quandl – a lot of them is not required for getting data.)
Step2: If everything is OK, you should see something similar to the picture below. Press "Download". (By using default settings you will download EOD AUD / USD data from the broadest date range. If this is not suitable for you, you can modify settings.)
Step3: Choose a format for downloading AUD / USD data from the next window.
Hint: ".csv" and ."xls" formats are OK in most cases.
- You can open ".xls" files with MS Excel, Libre Office, etc.
- Most statistical or technical analysis tools need ".csv" files etc.
Press "Download Data" to download data to your computer.
Possible problems
Number of downloads per day is limited to 50 if you are not a registered user of Quandl.com.
So if you see an error message related to this when downloading AUD / USD historical data, you should either register or wait another day.
